Renaissance Program

“Becoming a father is easy enough, but being one can be very rough” - Wilhelm Busch

ReEngage, Inc. will begin its mission in two main areas of focus.

  • One area of focus will be a pilot program providing support and stability to new families focusing on the whole family unit as one.

In order to participate both parents must be willing. Both parents must be committed to their relationship. Participating families must sign commitment contracts and be subject to random drug testing.

Program Length: (3 Years)

Year one will be intensive education, job training, and parenting training as needed by the participant. It will also include housing subsidies to help stabilize the family.

Year two we will continue to provide housing subsidies but we will also be providing money management training, home ownership training, and continue to provide counseling, training, and support groups.

Year three we will help to qualify the family for possible home ownership through current public home ownership programs. At this point the family should be stabilized enough to be financially self supporting. We will continue to provide support mechanisms in the way of ongoing counseling, support groups, and community involvement.

I think our goal should be to support these budding fathers and families and to provide an opportunity for them to become stable and to provide them with the tools and education to become better parents. I have found that the programs that have shown the best results are the ones that began early in the life of the child and the parents. If we can convey to them the importance of early childhood intervention and education I think we have a chance to establish a lifelong understanding of good parenting and the importance of commitment to the child.
